How to use the mode calculator


  1. Step 1: Select a starting note (i.e., " F "), this will be the first note of the mode.

  2. Step 2: Select a mode, such as "Phrygian."

  3. Results: A third pane will appear that will display the mode you selected. Additionally, each relative mode will be displayed in a table and spelled in letter-name notation and accompanied by a "Notate" button (the mode you selected will be highlighted in yellow on the table). Click any notate button to see that scale notated on the treble clef staff.
